Abstract
Introduction: Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory, multifactorial and complex disease.
Objective: To analyze the sociodemographic and lifestyle profile of women with endometriosis.
Method: This is a quantitative exploratory descriptive study, involving women who participated in an educational intervention, based on encouraging the adoption of healthy habits. The study included 41 women who responded to the Eight Natural Remedies Questionnaire (Q8RN) before the intervention. The descriptive statistical analysis was conducted with the R program.
Results: There was a predominance of the age group between 36 and 45 years old (38%), with the majority of women being married (80%), evangelical (89%), white (63% ) and postgraduates (37%). Among the other diseases mentioned, anxiety (32%), depression (18%) and obesity (13%) stood out. Physical health, mental health and quality of life were self-perceived as regular (46%, 37% and 37%, respectively). They presented a good lifestyle, with an average total score of 55 points and emphasis on the “temperance and trust in God” domain, which was well above average, contrasting with the “physical exercise” domain, which was below average.
Conclusion: Although the women's lifestyle profile appeared to be good, the presence of other diseases mentioned is possibly a reflection of the low score presented in the physical exercise domain, as well as their perceptions of physical health, mental health and quality of life , referred to as regular by most women
